RDS Now in Korean and Portuguese for 2012!

환영 | Bem-vindo!

The Random Data Selector (RDS) now has another two language translations, Korean and Portuguese. The Portuguese translation came from a UK based colleague while the Korean translation has been provided by our Korean colleagues as part of the start of CensusAtSchool.or.kr that we are all looking forward to viewing very soon.

Below is a list of our current translations, if you can offer us a translation in another language please let us know at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or via Twitter @censusatschool.

  • French: the first to be added for our colleagues in Canada where both French and English is used in Secondary and Primary schools.
  • Welsh: Cymraeg we added for the National 2011 Census that took place in both England and Wales.
  • Spanish: another translation provided by UK based colleagues.
  • Japanese: when the CensusAtSchool Japan site went live we added the Japanese translation, in about 2009.

New Data Added!

New data from the various international CensusAtSchool partner projects has been added to the Random Data Selector (RDS). This includes school children's submitted phase data;

  • New Canada Data for 2009 and 2010: the data split into Secondary and Primary levels is available in both the English and French language versions.
  • More Australian Data: a large amount of data from various phase years has now been added to the RDS.
  • The first Irish Data: the first ever as part of the CensusAtSchool project, although this is the first phase from Ireland it is being classed as Phase 9 as it based on the UK questionnaire from 2008-2009.

For now you may only take 200 samples from the RDS but we hope to add all this exciting new data to the DataTool at some point in the future.
